The following contains information on a character, area, item, or quest that is new to the latest version of Part One as of v1.40.
The Dog is a wild animal, a breed of Mastiff, who's home is the Wilderness around Betancuria. He is a possible henchmen for the last half of Lesson 7.
Spoiler: He is first seen in locked in a cage in the towerhouse of the Wilderness Castle during the Princess' trip home during the lesson. If the Princess frees him, he will join her party during the remainder of the trip home and occasionally show sexual interest in her. The dog will not follow the Princess into the city.
Note: The dog, once killed, cannot be successfully added back to the Princess' party. If she uses a Rod of Resurrection on it, the mastiff will be brought back to life, but will vanish shortly after.
Bug: If you wait around to see if the dog will return from following Gail, Anden will agree to wait, the clock will advance - and the dog does reappear. It will follow you around, you can chat with it, but it will not join your party and no further interactions can be had with it beyond basic conversation.
